Universal Studios Update: Waterfront News (PART 1)

Universal Studios Florida's major expansion continues at a really fast pace. Every day, new details are uncovered, and the excitement continues to build. Let's take a look around the park, as we always do, to find out what has been done in the past week:

Welcome to the only Central Florida studios theme park that is actually great!

Unfortunately, even a nice theme park such as this can have lame attractions. Or shows:

Inside:

Despicable Me had a quite "low" wait time:

A new Dippin' Dots location has been installed next to the ride's exit:

Still no Betty Boop banner here:

Doc. Brown riding his bike around a quiet Hollywood Boulevard:

Character-palooza in the area:

Time to check on the future Transformers ride:

Sorry, but we will not try to get over-the-wall shots here. They are quite angry to see people doing that:

Temporary stage near the Cafe La Bamba:

Some minor work near the New York (?) waterfront:

A look around (and then some say that LEGOLAND is the only park with light crowds this time of the year!):

Nice theming for the projectors. Really well done:

Time for a look at the new London waterfront:

It is really becoming great:

New crane:

And the first section of a building!:

  1. London waterfront...
Ok I see what you did there. :P
Hey as long as it means you'll continue to provide coverage, we'll continue to be excited for the new "London" portion of Universal Studios. ;)

  2. Wow, that place is dead. How will they ever survive? ;-)

  3. Great Scott! I'm glad to see Doc is still there. Even though his institute was taken over by a "Mercinary Clown". :)

  4. Personally - I'm not sold on a new Harry Potter world. I'm in the minority I think, but - you know - they've already got one. To build another would be overkill when there's so much potential for other attractions that could be installed in the park. Added to which there is already a third Harry Potter themed attraction (OK - its in England admittedly) - but IMHO - and again - its overkill...

  5. I really don't get the appeal of Universal Studios... I've been there 20+ times and I'm always bored halfway through the day. 4pm rolls around and it's like, well, I guess I'll go on MIB again?
Honestly, I'm not trying to be negative. I'd love to know what people like about this park so much.
