Magic Kingdom General Update: Sept. 2012 (PART 1)

Good morning OTPN Readers! Thank you for continuing to support our website by coming back to read our daily photo-reports! Today we have got a new general Magic Kingdom update, so let's dive right into this world of fantasy in search for something new to report:

First of all, work continues on the area located in the far left of the main entrance of the park:

A look around Magic Kingdom's Main Street:

What a Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah day!:

The Main Street Philharmonic Orchestra:

Yes, here we are:

Going trough Adventureland:

The area formerly occupied by the Shrunken Ned's Boats (near the Jungle Cruise) is receiving major work:

All the small boats are completely gone:

The view from the other side of the walls:

Great News: The golden camel spitting water finally moves its head again! We have never seen it doing that. And we have been coming to the park since 2009... How sad is that?:

Well, now it is working again!:

Let's now take a look inside the Pirates of the Caribbean queue:

A new chain now blocks the access to the shortcut:

Some nice queue particulars:

Another look at the new gate:

  1. As far as the camel goes, yes the head has moved in the past, you might not have been paying attention because it moves when it spits water out.SIDE NOTE: The camels actually used to be outside of a character dinning area at was once known as MGM, now known as Hollywood studios. I just thought I would share my knowledge considering I have been going to Disney parks at least once a year for the past 17 years.

  2. Are the shrunken Ned boats gone for good or is this a refurb?

  3. Both camels were originally used in the Aladdin parade at MGM. They turned and spit at the crowd as they went by. They moved to the Soundstage restaurant before being moved to the Carpets. I've been going to Disney parks in 5 seperate decades. Thought I'd pass on my knowledge of their full history to you. :-)
