Universal Studios Update: New Waterfront (PART 1)

Hello Orlando Theme Park News Readers, and welcome to our latest weekend photo-report! Usually we don't post major updates during the weekends due to the more limited amount of readers, but this time we chose to post one of the most appreciated updates: a Universal Studios Florida photo-report! Enjoy!:

First of all we wanted to report something that we never noticed before... The guitar of the old Hard Rock Cafe' (which is now completely gone) is still up behind some trees!:

It can still be clearly seen by guests walking to either the Hard Rock hotel or the Portofino Bay resort:

We thought it was very interesting to see this piece of history:

It looks surprisingly well-kept, given the amount of time it has been there:

Going toward the park, we noticed that the new Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem logo has been added to the "How Tall Are You?" sign:

By the way, Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem is proving to be extremely popular among park guests:

Time for some photos of the construction taking place in the Transform... ehm, Soundstage 44 area:

We sincerely apologize for not having taken over-the-wall photos in this instance, but we had people following us this time. Oh well...

The only attempt we were able to make:

Later on, we noticed that the crane was moving around some containers:

Moving on to the construction area formerly known as Amity:

The new rounded waterfront already looks awesome:

Some pieces of the old waterfront still have to be removed:

And now here's one of our famous panoramic views of the area (CLICK HERE for the full-size photo):

  1. Thanks for the great blog, but guests at the Hard Rock Hotel have been enjoying that neon-lit (at night) Strat overlooking the hotel's pool for years. It's one of my favorite things to see whenever I get back there. Is it really the original from the old Cafe? Just turn left when exiting the Studios and follow the path back towards the hotel-A very nice stroll in good weather. Rock On, OTPN!
