LEGOLAND's Water Park and... 4,000 Lbs of Ice!?

What's the first thing that comes to your mind when thinking about something to do to cool off in the middle of a summer day in Central Florida? Dumping boatloads of ice in the water, of course! And that is exactly what has been done at LEGOLAND Florida's Water Park in the past few days. Check it out!:

LEGOLAND® Florida Water Park Beats the Blazing Heat with 4,000 Lbs of Cool Refreshing Ice

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. (August 14, 2012) - The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) just reported July 2012 as the hottest month previously observed in the US records from over the past 118 years. Central Florida has been blazing with summer heat and the temperature is still rising in the August sun. LEGOLAND® Florida Water Park wanted to make sure their guests were extra refreshed from all this heat. So to cool things off, the park brought in a giant ice trailer packed with more than 4,000 pounds of chilly ice.

Lifeguards and guests spent the morning dumping bucket loads of refreshing ice into the massive LEGO® wave pool where they got to splish and splash through ice-capped waves for some beat the heat fun.

The all-new LEGOLAND Florida Water Park is a “park within a park,” where families and friends can cool off during a splash- filled day with “cool” attractions including Build-A-Raft River, where guests can build their own LEGO inner tubes and float down a 1,000-foot lazy river.

For the little ones, the DUPLO® Splash Safari is a toddler-haven with perfectly sized slides a zero- depth wading pool. Guests of all ages can play for hours at the Joker Soaker water playground, a riot of brightly colored ladders, levers, pumps and slides of every length and type. And a 583,000-gallon, crystal-clear wave pool and five slippery-fast water slides will thrill families all day long.

In addition to that, here's a short video showing the ice being poured into the water (the video includes also the following: Guests and Lifeguards interacting in ice-capped waves dumping bucket loads of ice in to the wave pools; a brief comment by Kim Isemann, Director of Sales and Marketing for LEGOLAND® Florida, as well as a quick, general overview of LEGOLAND Florida Water Park):

That looks definitely refreshing!
