Disney's Art of Animation: Lion King Section (Photos)

Walt Disney World's newest themed hotel, Disney's Art of Disney Animation Resort, has been opening in phases for the past couple of months. The next phase of the resort will see the debut of the Lion King-themed section of the resort, which will officially open on August 10, 2012. Today, though, the Orlando Theme Park News Team had the opportunity of taking a look around the area! Here you are some photos of this new area:

This is definitely one of the nicest Disney value resorts ever created:

Rafiki welcomes us to this new area:

Mufasa:

Great landscaping:

The entrance to one of the buildings:

Timon, Pumbaa, and Simba walking on the tree trunk... just like in the animated movie!:

Going to the realm of the villains:

The hyenas in the graveyard of the elephants:

Scar:

Zazu is here also, even though he's definitely not a villain. Well, at least when he is not overtaking the Enchanted Tiki Room at the Magic Kingdom Park with Iago...

By the way, work on the Little Mermaid-themed section of the park continue, and the details of this area look absolutely great! Here's a sneak peek:

And that is all for this evening. We will soon post quite a few new pictures showing the rest of the resort. Stay tuned, and feel free to share with us your opinions regarding this new hotel! Thank you!

  3. The log Timon, Pumba and Simba are on looks kind of low. Is it possible to hit your head if you try going under?
