Fantasyland Update: Tangled Area News (PART 1)

Hello again! Yes, despite the fact that we just posted a new Islands of Adventure update, we are again ready to offer you another exciting photo-report! This time we will take you around the new Fantasyland area, to check out all the new additions that are definitely transforming this area of the park. Enjoy the photos:

Let's start from the future Tangled-themed area:

A look from above:

The new bathrooms:

The foundations have been officially poured:

You know what this is? It is the support of the new Tangled tower (as reported by insiders). Exciting!:

In another area of Fantasyland, we noticed that Snow White has finally escaped from the witch. For good:

To say the truth, it is just a bit sad:

Work on the Castle Walls is definitely picking up:

This side is almost complete:

New bricks:

The slope between the new path and the old one is quite major:

This photo doesn't make any justice. It is higher than it looks:

Look how open this area feels now:

We are loving this openness:

The amount of trees in this new area is impressive. And we approve 100%, that's for sure:

Maurice's Cottage:

Beast's Castle:

Never seen before... Beast's Castle with palm trees in the foreground!:

  1. Thanks for the update! Any idea what is planned for the new Tangled area?

  2. Hey OTPN,

Not to burst your bubble or anything but the new area will have no ties to tangled. I am a construction worker in the area who has worked on this project since we tore down the older skyway building. It will be strictly a new rest area with two themed building (one for men, one for women). In front of the area will be a large tree covered stroller parking area. There will be a small, meandering path that goes down to where the Haunted Mansion is. There it will cross over a small wooden bridge that crosses over a small stream that connects to a small waterfall (to act as a buffer/transitionary line between Liberty Square and Fantasyland). If you look at the actual buildings in your shots you can even see the pipes being laid in the foundation for the bathrooms.

That tower that you speak of is just going to be a standard looking tower themed like the towers all over fantasyland.

Once again sorry! Keep up with the great updates though!

  3. You are either one severely misinformed worker or you're just making stuff up.

  4. To the person saying it's not going to be Tangled.... If this is true, when did they make the decision to drop the Tangled themeing? You can see in this link:

a segment of the construction drawing that call out Rapunzel's tower. Since you seem to have some inside knowledge, I assume you know when the idea was dropped?

  5. @2nd Anonymous: Thank you for your feedback. We definitely welcome everyone's opinion, but it looks like what you are telling us goes against what many insiders have been saying for a long time. For example, a very respectable insider at WDWMagic (Lee) has mentioned multiple times that there will be at least a tower themed to Rapunzel (the rest of the area will be occupied by bathrooms, like you said). Are you sure you heard that the tower being built will be generic-looking?
