Fantasyland Update: Castle Walls Revealed (PART 2)

Welcome to part 2 of this new Fantasyland update (PART 1 can be found here).
Let's continue to see what is new by moving over to the Little Mermaid's area:

Prince Eric's Castle is already really stunning:

Notice the golden color of the ring that encircles the tallest tower:

Work on the foundations of the Seven Dwarfs Mine Ride continues:

- Some more miscellaneous work being done around the land -

The demolition of the Fantasyland Skyway seems to be almost completely done:

A look above the walls:

Parts of the main tower are being removed as well:

There's still a lot that needs to be done here:

These restrooms will soon become an extension of Peter Pan's stand-by queue:

By the way, walls are finally down in Peter Pan's FASTPASS queue:

As you can see, a new ramp has been built to allow people with wheelchairs to access to the ride more easily:

This means that work on the next-generation queue line have not started yet:

The columns of the Storybook Treats building has been completely repainted:

...and Snow White's Scary Adventures is still open to the public (which is a very good thing):

And this is all for today! A big thank you to all those who constantly follow Orlando Theme Park News!

  1. A big thank you for posting these updates! We will not be able to visit until summer 2013, so reading these lets us live vicariously through you!! So excited to see the work done on both castles, as well as Storybook Circus. It will be phenomenal when finished. Thanks again from Ohio!

  2. Wow! Work is really progressing!

I've been told by my sources that a Peter Pan Next Gen queue isn't in the five year plan. There is plans eventually to get around to it, but other attractions are first.

  3. Thank you for sharing that piece of information with us, Anonymous! We do think that it would be better to first refurbish the attraction itself before building a new interactive queue. That would make much more sense to us, since the ride needs some special attention, as it is quite old.

  9. Great update as usual! Thank you so much. Also, just as an FYI, I can still see all photos on my phone just fine. (Android-Galaxy Nexus)I know it must be frustrating to try to work out all of the kinks with your new photo sites.
