I have never seen the crowds that immense in my life. Large enough for Epcot to have to shuffle people through backstage? I'm speechless. 60 mins for Spaceship Earth? The most I've waited for that attraction was no more than 6! Very entertaining update though :)

  2. Never ever in many many many many vistis have I seen 1) a wait for Nemo - we've always walked right on 2) people lined up at 5M for fireworks?

That is purely insane, crazy and mind blowing. A nice rminder never to go over the iwnter Holidays! Thanks for sharing the insanity!

  3. I remember taking my wife to WDW during Christmas week of 1986. It was her very first trip to Florida. Every Epcot line was at least an hour (we remember waiting for 1 hr and 45 min for the "old" Universe of Energy). She never wanted to go back. Luckily, I convinced her 3 years later and we visited the last week of January. She had a MUCH better experience that time. We're now seasoned WDW veterans (DVC members too) and know what to expect for crowds (and weather) during most times of year.

  4. Thanks for getting out there. I'm curious what it's like during this time of year, but I'm not that brave.

  5. Did the movies (Canada, France, China), the American Adventure, or El Rio del Tiempo have a line?

Surprised to see such a line for the Peoplemover; about 10 years back I was there on Thanksgiving and the Peoplemover was pretty much the only option short of finding those hideaway spots to relax and soak in the atmosphere.

  6. Great Report but Insane Queue!!!!
If you have time, next time you will visit EPCOT, could you take some shot of The World Showplace pavilion, open as the Fantasia Restaurant.

    Thanks!!!

  7. Great job! I was there b/w Christmas and New Year's... it was, as you documented, very crowded. We knew that going in of course, so our expectations were curbed some. We still got on most attractions with moderate wait. The AK was by far the worst, too few attractions to spread out the mob (we didn't spend much time there!!!!). On the bright side, we actually got on Toy Story Mania with only about a 20 minute wait... of course, it was 1:00 AM on an EMH night.

  8. another great report!

I'd heard the crowds over Christmas and New Year can be insane at Disney

    Now I believe it!

Definitely will give Christmas at Disney a miss...
