Universal Studios Update: Lagoon Show News (Part 1)

Universal Studios Florida is continuously receiving additions (and, in the last few weeks, subtractions too!), and this is absolutely positive to see, especially since it has all been about Islands of Adventure until the end of 2010. Today we will take our usual look at the park in general, to see what's s new and what has changed.

The first thing that we notice is that JAWS' icon has disappeared from the "How tall are you?" totem:

So sad!:

Shrek's Soundstage will soon receive its themed billboards again (EDITOR'S NOTE: on our last visit we noticed that the billboard were already installed, but unfortunately we didn't take any pictures):

Well, glad to see they're back, I guess...

The Blues Brothers:

Minor work being done to some facades in the New York City area of the park:

The statue in the middle of the New York area is missing again:

The seating area that was located along the shore has been relocated to an area in front of Starbucks:

This area is now empty to allow the crowds to walk during the parade:

Checking out the central lagoon, which will soon host a brand-new nighttime show:

BEFORE:

NOW:

Some new colored spheres have appeared in the lagoon:

Any guesses about what they are measuring? Some rumors say that the new nighttime show will include real stunts once again (like the famous Dynamite Nights Stunt Spectacular):

Let's compare the work that has been done to the barges in the past week:

BEFORE (photos taken about a week ago, never posted here):

Notice the big hole in the middle:

AFTER (photos taken a couple of days ago, never posted here):

The big hole in the middle has been covered in all of the barges:

A section of the dock is still closed:
