Islands Of Adventure: Aggro Circus No More (PART 2)

Here we are, on part 2 of our new Islands of Adventure update. Before continuing, as always, we want to make sure that you have already checked out PART 1, so that you can follow along with our discussions.

Now, let's check out Toon Lagoon, starting from Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls:

Unfortunately, the ride is loosing its once-great look:

Things are starting to look bad again:

And, the worst thing is that NONE of the special effects outside the ride were working! Take a look :

Looking for something?:

WossaMotta U has once again been closed for refurbishment:

They've taken out everything inside the building:

We sure hope they won't leave the building empty, like they did before 2010...

Going to Popeye's area:

Unfortunately, Popeye and Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges was closed for refurbishment, even though the weather is still very, very hot (today we had the first day, since March, when the maximum temperature went below 90 degrees). The good thing is that the ride really needed a refurbishment:

They apologize for the "inconveniensk":

The whole area was closed:

Here you can see how bad the conditions of some of the ride's props were:

It's great to see them repainting these:

No water:

Bluto now will have to wait some time before playing tricks to Popeye's cruise guests:

Near the never-used hamburger restaurant near Popeye's ride, they had these boxes:

Going away from the area:

NEWS - You can finally say goodbye to the Aggro Circus. As we reported before, all the props for the show are completely gone, and now the stage is used to train new team members to perform in other shows in the park. Take a peek inside the theater:

You can clearly see that they are being trained:

Some photos of MARVEL Superhero Island (our least favorite island of the park):

This should slightly change soon:

NEWS - The Superhero bikes are now open for everyone to touch, it seems. Before, team members had to put a rope all around them, so that nobody could go too close to them:

Now you can take some nice close-up photos of them:

The Hulk, still green:

  1. Out of curiosity, why is Marvel Superhero Island your least favorite area?

While its not my favorite, (The static 2-D cutouts sorta ruin the cool atmosphere) I think it is a pretty ok area for Universal. I think the rides are pretty great in the area too! (Except the stupid teacups...which are in the stupidest location ever) I hope if it is replaced (Which I doubt will happen anytime soon, it would be replaced with the Sci-Fi city land found at Universal Studios Singapore.

  2. I'm curious too. I spent most of my limited time at IoA back in October 2010 IN Marvel Super Hero Island, so I am curious as to why that one is your least favorite one.

MY least favorite is Jurassic Park. For me, not being a fan of that movie, it is a total walkthrough.

  3. Thanks for your comments.
I personally don't like the Marvel area because of the loud music (I really can't stand that... I love the music of the other areas, though), and also because of the theming, which is mostly of cutouts, like Anonymous said. Just that...

  4. Great report, You say in your report that popeye will be closed for some time.
Do you know the time scale for down time??
I'm coming to florida for a vacation 5th November and do you know of any other rides that may be down during that time

  6. I was at IOA on Monday this week (3rd) and Popeye was open with no wait to go on. Wimpys burger joint was closed that day but I suspect that may have been down to the quiet off season.
