Journey Into Narnia: Prince Caspian - TRIBUTE

As you may know, today, September 10, 2011 was the last day of operation of the Journey Into Narnia: Prince Caspian attraction at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Let's check it out one last time.

The very unimpressive entrance foreshadowed the low quality of this exhibits, which was really useless:

The wait times were always very low:

This banner was the only thematic element outside the attraction:

- THE QUEUE LINE -

As you will see from the following pictures, the whole queue line of the attraction was outdoor, and it was as bare as it can get. No theming, just a couple of television screens showing some trivia questions about the first two Narnia movies:

At least it was covered (with un-themed tarps):

The television screens:

This is a game you could do at home, nothing incredible:

The entrance to the Soundstage:

- THE PRE-SHOW -

The pre-show room, which actually showed some behind-the-scenes images of the making of the movie:

Interestingly, there's an unrelated sign near the top of the building, in the pre-show room:

Finally, some good theming:

This portal lead guests into the main show room:

- THE MAIN SHOW -

The actual show was a real letdown. It was just a cut-and-paste of some of the sections of the movie. NOTHING ELSE was added. Just clips from the movie:

At least, the room was nicely themed:

There was a lot of fog, that's sure:

- THE POST-SHOW -

The post-show of the attraction featured some props actually used in the movie:

And that's all. We are glad to know that this attraction is gone. It was a real waste of space.
Disney has not yet announced what will replace "Journey Into Narnia: Prince Caspian," but, stay tuned for future announcements!

  2. Isn't there a 3rd Narnia movie due? lets hope we don't get another rubbish attraction based on that...

A third film was released by 20th Century Fox last year.

  4. I just wished Disney did something better with the Narnia films because the title of the attraction is fitting "Journey Into Narnia" its just the actual attraction was indeed a letdown. Hopefully Disney re-visits Narnia with a better attraction.

  5. lol. the 3rd Narnia movie must've flopped cos it completely escaped my radar here in the uk. Maybe thats why Disney didn't update this attraction to include the 3rd movie.

Hopefully this means Narnia wasn't/isn't as popular as Disney hoped, and they will abandon unpopular Narnia attractions and make far better use of the space.

  6. Disney announced after the second film, it would not be involved with any future Narnia films that would be made.
This could be why the third film wasn't as successful and also why there hasn't been any real interest in the attraction at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

  7. The Narnia films were made by Walden Media, and only distributed and marketed by Disney. The third film was released by 20th Century Fox, but even then, it's still a Walden Media project. Disney was the "middle man" for the first two.

I'm glad to see it's gone. The attraction was a major let-down, and the space it was in isn't any bigger than a meet-and-greet space. There used to be a themed meet-and-greet outside (Price Caspian), but that was shuttered long ago. Maybe they can put Tron or some Disney-Pixar characters in here, and make it relevant.

  8. Let's see here... TRON was hugely successful, has a HUGE following, has a sequel AND a TV series on the way... AND there were ideas floating around for a TRON themed atttraction....FLYNN'S ARCADE anyone???
