Fantasyland Update - August 7, 2011

We are all very excited to see how construction is progressing on the new Fantasyland Expansion, aren't we?
This week, we bring you the latest update on the work currently being done on the Skyway, the Beauty and the Beast's area, the Little Mermaid's area, Dumbo and its Circus land, and much more.

Let's start with a look at Prince Charming's Royal Carousel, which was recently refurbished due to an accident:

It is now back in operation:

Nothing new happening on the Skyway:

Pinocchio's Village Haus is still receiving some work on the roof:

Work on the Castle Walls continues:

Strangely, all the lights attached to the walls were on. This is a waste of money:

- The Beauty and the Beast's area -

The miniature trees have been covered up:

It looks like some minor, new details were recently added to the castle, like the golden paint on some of the castle's spires:

The rock formation is starting to look incredibly realistic:

Belle's Cottage:

- The Little Mermaid's Castle -

The Castle:

Take a look at the new green paint that has been applied on the rocks:

Some close-ups of the rock formation:

A look over the walls:

Nearby, the "Enchanted Grove" is currently under a major refurbishment:

The tarps applied on this building have to be the best we've ever seen:

They include everything: fake signs, fake greenery... incredible:

As you can see, the walls at the bottom of the tarp are no more... I wish they will implement this same kind of tarp in all the future refurbishments, if possible:

The quick service location is still open for business while they work on the building:

Fairies at work...

The tarp goes all around the building, reaching the bathrooms on the side of the Enchanted Grove:

From the Tomorrowland Speedway, you wouldn't even notice the tarps, as you can see:

Here' s a look at the Menu of the Enchanted Grove (click on the image for a closer view of each item):

The train station and the Casey Jr. water playground are really taking shape:

Dumbo's Circus:

A new building is taking shape on the other side of Dumbo's Circus:

  2. I don't think they should have made a new Fantasyland. I like the ideas, but they are trying to make it less unique from Disneyland. ToonTown was perfectly fine - my kids loved the character spot and The Barnstormer. I think the parks were perfectly fine - why change it?
