Special Fantasyland Photo Update - June 23, 2011

This is one of our special Fantasyland updates, as we include not only ground-level pictures, but also a couple of pictures taken from the panoramic floors of the Contemporary resort and Bay Lake Tower! Let's take a look together at the progress that has been made in the past few days, starting from the Fantasyland Skyway:

Now you can even see the old castle walls in the background!:

It is gone, forever:

The loading/unloading area is no more:

The tower stands lonely among over-grown plants, eagerly awaiting for changes, which are coming right away, as most of you know (new, themed bathrooms, and a really nicely landscaped area):

Quite busy today:

Work continues on "It's a Small World" 's tower:

Almost all the shingles on the roof have been replaced:

A closer look at the tower:

Pinocchio's Village Haus is receiving newly-repainted shingles, even though the roof was recently repainted:

A comparison with the older shingles reveals that they really needed to be repainted, as they faded very quickly:

Work continues on the removal of the very last planter in this section of the old Fantasyland:

- THE BEAUTY AND THE BEAST'S AREA -

Let's take a look at the new Beauty and the Beast area, to see if there's something new to check out:

A lot of new steel frames have gone up:

Again, the mystery hole:

Belle's cottage is really coming along:

Beast's castle:

Belle's village:

The pattern of bricks is also very nice:

- THE LITTLE MERMAID -

Here are some pictures of the new Little Mermaid's castle:

A close look at the rockwork of the castle:

A look back at the huge Fantasyland pathway:

This will soon be a view of the past:

The wall that separates the old Fantasyland form the new Storybook Circus area have been moved even nearer the Mad Tea Cups, completely closing the small path behind the ride:

The Teacups' roof has still not been replaced yet, but it looks OK, for now:

Some pictures of Dumbo's Circus, which is coming along very nicely:

It already looks like a circus tent:

The old tent is still looking the same:

- FROM UP IN THE SKY -

And now, here you are some nice pictures of the Fantasyland Expansion area, which are in higher resolution, therefore if you click on them, you'll be able to see even more hidden details. Please, be aware that due to the size of these pictures, it may take a bit longer for them to load, based on your internet connection speed. Thank you very much for your patience, and enjoy!:

Another look at the Beauty and the Beast's area:

Belle's cottage:

The rockwork:

The Beast's Castle:

The entrance to the castle:

Belle's village, where Gaston's Tavern, Bonjour! gift shop and other minor stores will be located:

The Little Mermaid's castle:
