The Main Street sidewalk is being widened!! Look here:

You can clearly see the difference between the old and the new walkway, and I really hope that they will do something to make them look alike, because like this, it doesn't look good to me:

  1. Great update for an Happy New Year!!!

    Just a couple of question: the new Hi tech queue will be deviation of the actual queue???

    The holiday winter season is more crowded than the summer season???
    I still don't understand the need of extend the walkway!!

    Today I am going to make a donation to thank you for all the great work you daily do : is not much but you can take a pizza between a shot and the other!

  2. THANK YOU so much for your generosity Bigfoots!! I won't forget that! :-)
    This helps us to continue to bring you updates each week!!

    To answer to your questions:

    1) The new queue will be an extension of the existing queue, and is rumored to include some next-generation entertainment;

    2)I would have to say that the "Winter season" is much crowded than the summer season;

    3) The walkway expansion may be needed when the park is crowded and to add viewing space for the parade;

    4) The new, small monorail track is just for service, nothing special..

    Thank you so much once again!!!

  3. Thank you for this update! I really enjoyed seeing Splash Mountain, actually! I participated in NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and wrote a short novel about Disney. A lot of it was guesswork, but I kept coming back to your site for inspiration :)

  4. We were there last January and Splash Mountain was closed then, too. It's sad to see it all dried up! Love the updates. Photos are awesome. Can't wait for the new area to open up. In your expert opinion, when is the best time to visit? Least crowded, least attractions closed for overhaul?
    Love the site.

  5. Nice Update, OTPN. Glad to see that the crowds FINALLY died down. The 2011 sign for COP at least seems to be held up better than the old one.

  6. There is about to be an exterior refurbishment on the Confectionary. This is the reason for expanding the sidewalk. It will provide parade viewing space, and is only temporary.

  7. @ Marina: Wow!! I'm so honored to be the inspiration for a novelist! :-)
    Your novel will surely be the best one, I know it!!

    @ AnonyMOUSE #1: Thank you for your comment! In my humble opinion, the best time to come here is September/October (before Halloween), January (after the holidays) and May. Hope this helps when you will come on vacation here!! Thanks again!

    @ AnonyMOUSE #2 & 3: Thanks for the comments!!

  8. We came the week right after Thanksgiving and it was perfect. We have also been in October and the last part of May/First part of June and had no problems at all.
