Downtown Disney update - Pleasure Island demolishment continues

Hello, and welcome to a new Downtown Disney update!
There are a lot of news from the shopping districts, including a lot of demolition!
Let's see:

The entrance to the Marketplace is the nicest of the three:

Take a look at these beautiful flowers!!:

The "new" maps that have been installed throughout the place:

Since the LEGO shop will be closed for renovation for a while, it will be temporarily relocated here, between the "Once upon a Toy" store and the "Earl of Sandwich" restaurant:

It will be like a gazebo:

The $10 or less shop is currently closed:

There are shows going on here:

The T-REX Cafe' has proved to be one of the most successful restaurants of DTD, together with its brother, the Rainforest cafe:

As we said before, the LEGO shop will close soon for a major renovation, and will be 1/3 bigger than it is now!:

Pollo Campero:

New, themed carts along the new bridge:

There's a lot of open space now!!:

Fulton's Crabhouse, Portobello and the Irish pub will be the only buildings that will remain intact in Pleasure Island/soon-to-be Hyperion Wharf:

work near the pub:

Mannequins still stands:

But, here you are the work that everybody was looking for! Two clubs are currently being torn down, with Motion being the first to be completely destroyed:

Beach Club is next:

Wow!:

Notice the door that leads to nowhere!!:

Other closed clubs:

This will be the only one that will be missed:

Good to go:

I love "Characters in Flight"! It really makes Downtown Disney's skyline very interesting:

Soon, you will be able to eat and watch a movie here:

Work is already underway:

The map shows you the route to the entrance to the Movie Theater (which is still open):

Disney Quests can use some new games:

Nice!!:

Not very full during the day:

The building we saw before, the BEACH CLUB is being torn down too, beginning from the behind:

No visible work on the Soundstage Club... yet!!:

A look at Pleasure Island's sign... which will soon be no more:

And, to end, here you are a great view of the panorama, as seen from Downtown Disney!:

Thanks for viewing!!

  2. Thanks, Tim! For now, the scheduled completion for Hyperion Wharf should be end of 2012/beginning 2013, while the new dine-in AMC theaters should be ready by end of the year, if not before!

  3. OOh, the dine-in theater option sounds interesting. I think I like that idea. Will there still be plain movies too? Having the choice would be awesome! Nice update! Thanks a bunch!

  4. Yes, Shelly! About 20 theaters will still show 2-D, 3-D and 3-D IMAX shows without the dine-in experience, while 2 will be converted to the new dinner-show experience!!
    Thanks for the comments!
